Northants HOC have a slightly moist Everyotherrun
07 June 2017
See the bigger pictureEOR 7 June 2017. Six intrepid travellers (Brian, Ian, Kim & Tony, Richard and Steve), decided to ignore the threatening skies and joined me to explore some of the roads in the west of the county. The weather was mostly dry, with just a few spots of rain en-route. Ian found out that his tyres are definitely not suitable for damp conditions, and Richard worked out that his bike behaves a lot better when in 'Rain' mode, rather than 'Sport'. Unfortunately, having remained mainly dry, the weather gods decided to punish us on leaving the Five Bells in Bugbrooke.

The Northants HOC meet at The George, Northampton Road, Brixworth, Northampton NN6 9BU every Wednesday from 8pm. Everyone is welcome, no matter what they ride. For more details about the Northants Branch please e-mail Ruth, call her on 07760 415347 for a chat or join their Facebook page.

East Midlands HOC present cheque to Blood Bikes
10 May 2017
Open a larger image in new windowWe finally caught up with our branch member who is a Derbyshire Blood Biker, the logistics of getting together were quite difficult as we had to get a time and date when we were available and so was Ian along with the Blood Bike (that was the most difficult as when he had the bike he was most often on the road with it making an emergency delivery).

Here we are presenting Ian with the cheque for £288 raised from the raffle at the Christmas party held at Mickleover Court Hotel last November. Thanks to Bob Minion Honda and Mickleover Court Hotel for donating a prizes for the raffle.

East Midlands HOC join in the brilliant Bike4Life charity ride
3 May 2017
Open a larger image in new window7 bikes met up for an early start to ride over to Shrewsbury for the 2017 Bike4Life Charity Ride from Meole Brace Park and ride to RAF Cosford. The weather held up really well and we arrived earlier than previous years, but everyone else had the same idea and so we were not any nearer to the front than we had done last year! So the wait was long but the company good and eventually we joined the throng to leave the carpark and made our way along the route (filled with waving on-lookers) to the RAF Museum at Cosford. A great day was had by all, including the 2 youngster pillions embarking on their first ride out with the club.

We had a gentle ride back through the Staffordshire countryside and then back into Derbyshire and back home.

Overall just over 10,000 eggs were collected for distribution to the under privileged children in the greater Reading area (all will have bad teeth!) Not sure how many bikes attended in total, I would hazard a guess at 400 ish for the slow ride through Reading Old Town to the rugby club. The route was lined with spectators waving and cheering.

Mick Yeomans
11 April 2017
See the bigger pictureIt’s with sad regret that Three Shires HOC have to announce the passing of Mick Yeomans after battling cancer for several months. Our thoughts are with his family and in particular Pam his loving wife and best friend whom he adored.

He is going to be sorely missed.

Our condolences and thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
